Terms of Use

Last updated Monday 28 September

These terms govern the use of VELURA by everyone: visitors, clients who request a booking, and companions who advertise on it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use VELURA.

1. What VELURA is — and is not

VELURA is an advertising platform for adult companionship. Companions publish a profile, their services and their availability; visitors browse those profiles and can send a booking request or contact a companion directly.

VELURA is not an agency, an employer or a party to any arrangement between a client and a companion. We do not arrange meetings, set prices, employ or manage companions, or take any share of what a client pays a companion. Payment for an appointment is agreed and made directly between the two of them and never passes through VELURA.

Companions are independent adults who decide for themselves whether to accept a request, what they offer within our Content Rules, and on what terms.

2. Adults only

You must be 18 or older, and of legal age where you live, to use VELURA in any way. By using the site you confirm that you are.

We review every companion profile before it is published and may ask for proof of age and identity at any time. We remove any profile or content that involves, or appears to involve, a minor, and we report it to the authorities.

3. Booking requests (clients)

You do not need an account to request a booking. You give your name, email address and phone number, and optionally a message; the companion receives them so they can answer you.

  • A request holds the chosen time until the companion accepts or declines it. A request that is not answered within 48 hours expires.
  • You can cancel a request, or a confirmed booking that has not yet taken place, from the link in your confirmation email.
  • Give accurate contact details and make only requests you intend to keep. We limit how many requests one address or connection can send, to protect companions from abuse.
  • Treat companions with respect. Harassment, threats, pressure to go beyond what they offer, or any attempt to obtain services that our Content Rules prohibit will lead to your requests being blocked and, where appropriate, reported.

4. Companion accounts

To advertise you create an account, complete a profile and submit it for approval. We decide whether to publish a profile, and may refuse one that does not meet these terms or the Content Rules.

  • You are responsible for everything on your profile: text, photos, services, prices and availability. It must be accurate, current and about you.
  • You must hold the rights to every photo you upload, and every photo must show you.
  • You act independently and on your own account. You are responsible for your own tax, registration and any other legal obligations that apply to your activity where you work.
  • Keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • You must answer requests promptly or keep your availability current, so clients are not left holding times you will not honour.

Listing on VELURA is free. If we ever introduce paid features, such as a subscription or promoted placement, we will tell companions well in advance; their price, duration and renewal terms will be shown before anyone pays, nothing will be charged without the companion's agreement, and a subscription can be cancelled at any time with effect from the end of the period already paid.

5. Reviews

After a companion marks an appointment as completed, the client may receive a private, single-use link to review it. Only a completed booking made through VELURA can be reviewed, which is what the Verified Booking badge means. A review is published under the client's initial or first name, as they choose.

Reviews must be honest, about the appointment itself and within the Content Rules. We do not edit reviews, and we do not accept payment to publish, rank or remove them. We may remove a review that breaks these terms or the Content Rules, or that we are legally required to remove.

6. How profiles are shown

Visitors can filter profiles by country, city, language and availability, and sort them by the option they choose: recommended (the default), top rated (by the average of verified reviews), or newest. VELURA does not sell promotion today. If it ever does, promoted profiles will be clearly labelled as such, and apart from that we do not accept payment to change a profile's position.

7. What you must not do

  • Break the law, or use VELURA to facilitate anything illegal, including trafficking, exploitation or profiting from another person's sexual activity.
  • Publish anything our Content Rules prohibit.
  • Pose as someone else, or create a profile for or on behalf of another person.
  • Collect other users' data, scrape the site, or use automated means to send requests or create accounts.
  • Interfere with the site's security or operation, or try to reach data or accounts that are not yours.
  • Use contact details obtained through VELURA for spam, marketing or anything other than the booking they were given for.

8. Moderation, suspension and closure

Anyone can report content they believe is illegal or breaks the Content Rules by writing to appvelura@gmail.com. We review reports promptly and diligently, and tell the person who reported it what we decided.

We may remove content, hide a profile, restrict features or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, the Content Rules or the law. When we do, we tell the affected user what we did and why — unless the law or an authority prevents us, or doing so would put someone at risk — and they can contest the decision by replying to that message. We will reconsider it and answer.

You can stop using VELURA at any time. Companions can delete their account from Settings; what that erases and what is kept is described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Responsibility and liability

Profiles, services, prices and availability are published by companions, not by us. We review profiles before publication and act on reports, but we cannot verify everything a companion says, and we are not responsible for what happens at an appointment or for any arrangement between a client and a companion.

We aim to keep VELURA available and accurate but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss or for loss caused by the conduct of other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects companions, we tell them by email at least 15 days before it applies; a companion who does not accept it may close their account before then.

11. Law, complaints and disputes

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts there.

Complaints can be sent to appvelura@gmail.com. Consumers in Portugal can also use the electronic complaints book (Livro de Reclamações Eletrónico) at www.livroreclamacoes.pt, and can turn to one of the alternative dispute resolution entities listed at www.consumidor.gov.pt.
